Today we headed south to visit Santa Cruz. It was a beautiful sunny day, so we grabbed our jackets and headed down south. Santa Cruz has about 55 thousand people, and was just gorgeous. We went to two awesome book shops, Bookshop Santa Cruz and Logos and then a candy store where I took photos of the chocolate cover bacon and other bacon goodies and later bought pumpkin caramels and peanut fudge and pumpkin taffy.
We also went to a New Leaf supermarket where I bought a light chai cola, which I did like but it wasn't brilliant, and then we wandered around and eventually we ended up having dinner at this awesome vegetarian burger place. I have heaps of photos... we shared everything, from sliders (little hamburgers) and chili poppers (jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese, battered and deep fried), chili slices battered and fried, chipotle sauce, blue cheese sauce, garlic and parsley fries, spicy macaroni cheese, and steak cut nacho fried.
We aslso went to Costplus which has pumpkin candy corn and lots of beautiful stuff. I almost bought some kites for the boys but they looked so fragile that they wouldn't be able to make it home.
We found a shop called Ross Dress for Less where I bought some clothes! Yay! Unfortunately they are either winter clothes, or evening dresses. I might be very well dressed or warm at WFC2011!
For dessert we had mocha chai at Cafe Pergolesi with maccarons I bought from new leaf gourmet shop. I see why the french macarons are so popular now! I got 2 of six different flavours and they were lovely! Crunchy on the outside, and chewy on the inside with subtle flavours. They were also quite sweet.
No deep thoughts for today other than i am having such an awesome, lovely time. We all shared our food today and it was so nice being able to try so many different things with friends. I am going to bed now -busy day planned for tomorrow. I feel like this post is more like alisr than a post, but it will do for now.
