The party rocked. Big thanks to Matt and Sheldon for being so amazing in the kitchen and to Chesh for doing all the actual work work. :-) Everything is kind of blurry because there was so much going on all the time, I caught some goss just before they all headed to the bedroom, had a chat with lots and lots of friends, the spa went down a treat, the weirdest thing I saw was about two rows of 15 people sitting around the spa like a viewing gallery; better than TV I guess! Food was excellent, most of it got eaten which is good because I didn't want it hanging around forever! We're *still* cleaning up! It's too hot to do anything during the day around here! And 39 degrees expected for today too! Ack! My plan is to shut all the curtains and stop moving. Sound good?

I didn't drink very much, but did manage to stay awake until 2:30ish? 3am? Whenever every one left and we all went to bed? It was briliant to see every one - and another reason why I am so glad every one came is because I don't think I am likely to tackle something as big as that again! Ever! My family got to see/meet/pass judgement on my friends, my friends saw/met/passed judgement on my family... My close family is cool though, my bro and Mum and Dad get on well with every one. :-) I worked it out - about 25-ish family, and about 50 odd friends. *grin*. Maybe they were feeling a tad outnumbered. I'm amused to think I had enough friends who love me enough to drive out to Westfield all for my birthday! All the blogs have seemed positive so far, so I'm hoping every one had as great a time as I did!!

Lots of fun was had in the spa, some people had too much fun in the spa I am sure. The 12 person spa CAN fit 16 people in it apparently. People were asking if I was going to get in, so I'd look, and then say "Well, I would, but I don't think I have enough lubricant right now..." :-) The numbers on the side (8 - 12 people) are obviously a CHALLENGE not a safety warning. :-) I scored lots of cool presents, and have spent the past few days reading avidly. I have completed "A Hatful of Sky", "Maskerade,""Equal Rites," and started "The Story of V" last night as well as starting "A Hatful of Sky" again. I should list the books I read at the moment, I am chewing through things so fast. I am amused to findout many interesting things already in "The Story of V" , such as the fact that Sheela-na-gigs are actually one of many many many cultural female icons. Awesome. I particularly like the statues where the legs go up to obvious vulvas, but the stomachs of the ladies are the faces. Weird, and so truly cool. I can see a few more trips to Cheshire's parents for some clay work coming on. And the power of raising your skirts.... now there's a diatribe that will be interesting to see how it runs. :-)

*hugs her bookpimp*

Scored some beautiful jewellery, my first opals! And they are beautiful! Plus some gorgeous stuff from Carmel and Michael, a very very very cute cat from Nanna, and a toaster oven from Teresa. I have to admit, I am kind of bemused by it. A toaster oven? :-) I also got a proper heavy thai style mortar and pestle, the sort of one that are huge and weigh a ton. I'll be able to crush anything in this one! Chococlate. I like chocolate. :-) I got chocolate. Vouchers, money, a cool lazy susan platter, stuff stuff stuff and stuff. I was also amused to note that despite the fact we had so much food and so many people, we still did not manage to use every single platter in the house. Ok, so I like platters. *shrug*

I got sekrit recipes. But it's sekrit. *grin*

Did I mention the two bottles of absinthe and the half a dozen bottles of decent wines?? I am thinking of labelling them all so we only drink them on special occasions. *grin*

I remember that towards two-ish in the morning, I'm sitting in the spa with a gorgeous young man on either side of me. I was so GOOD! I laced my fingers together in front of my tummy and stayed good too! *grin* Good Girl Sarah? Doesn't quite have the ring of Tsunami Sarah now does it?? I just thought I should brag because I am still thinking of a few things from that night. *grin*

What else what else what else..... I have such attractive friends. *grin* Lots and lots and lots and lots of fun. It was everything I was hoping for from my 30th, and we drank every bottle of champagne I put out (13) plus all the pina coladas (and [livejournal.com profile] utopos I did too warn you they were alcoholic! You watched me make them up!) most of the beer, all the dinner, not enough of the antipasto, (Hey, guess what we might be having for dinner at roleplaying! You guessed it, antipasto!) and 98% of all the dessert. I still have a lot of fruit lying around because we didn't cut it all up. And a cake. (You guys at roleplaying hungry? Looks like cake with cream and jam for dessert!) Plus we drank about 6 or 7 of Mother's wine too. I didn't provide any whites, thinking people would drink the champers, but I was just wrong. *grin* And I forgot to put the cab merlot out on the drinks table. Ah well. :-)

I think having a tea and coffee station outside was a brilliant idea too, it meant I didn't have people asking me for cups of tea and coffee! It was all there for the taking. :-)

Ok, I should stop talking about it now. It's over, except for the cleaning. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] valeskah1 and [livejournal.com profile] punkrocker1991 and [livejournal.com profile] splanky for help cleaning up too. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lucretiae and every one else for being wonderful, for helping, for being here, and everything! Yay!

It was mucho fun. I think I started the Spa viewing gallery as everywhere else with seats seemed to be taken, and it had such a nice view!
Sorry we couldn't stay later, but lack of sleep was starting to catch up on me. :P

You are so welcome :-D
I had fun (hmm, is that an understatement maybe?)
I think spas should now be a fixture of all summer parties. They promote sociability among other things... *grin*

You throw fantastic parties, m'dear.

"and about 50 odd friends" Hey! I didn't think we were being that odd! Surprisingly restrained, in fact. :)

The party did rock. It rawked!
I felt pretty awful after champers, pina coladas and spa dehydration, but managed to become relatively human again on Sunday. All good.
Glad you had a ball!
